Yoga offers a safe and effective way of looking after both body and mind. Practice of Yoga not only promotes flexibility through stretching the muscles but also helps build strength and stamina to ensure the body is balanced and supported. Breathing and relaxation techniques help to
decrease anxiety and tension.
But I'm really inflexible!
This is the most common statement I hear. Rest assured, Yoga is not about tying yourself in knots! Flexibility is an element but so are strength, stamina and release of
tension. I have
everyone in my classes from ex-dancers to arthritis sufferers, from 17
to 73 year olds and they all find different aspects easy or challenging.
You'll probably find achieving a 'perfect' posture becomes less
important as you enjoy practicing Yoga for its own sake.
What if I'm injured or ill?
A regular Yoga
practice is a great tool for managing conditions but also as a
preventative measure to stop them from worsening. From rehabilitation through to dealing
with sports injuries, Yoga covers a broad
spectrum. Among the many
conditions Yoga is used for are: Back ache, RSI, Sports Inuries,
Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Stress and Anxiety.
